O. Reg 73/20 - Ontario Regulation made under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act

On March 20, 2020 O. Reg. 73/20 was filed stating that any limitation period under any statute, regulation, rule, by-law or order of the Government of Ontario is suspended for the duration of the emergency and this is retroactive to March 16, 2020.  As well, any of the above that requires a step to be taken in any proceeding is also suspended for the duration of the emergency.  To see the Regulation in its entirety please click here.

ARB - COVID-19 Policy – Postponing Hearings

Effective March 13, 2020, Tribunals Ontario is implementing a new policy to postpone in-person hearings and reschedule to a later date. Where feasible, alternative hearing options such as written and telephone hearings will be considered to minimize disruption to hearings across the organization. In addition, all front-line counter services will be closed as of March 16 until further notice.

MPAC

  • RFR Deadline - MPAC has advised municipalities due to the State of Emergency declared the RfR deadline of March 31, 2020 will be extended until 16 days after the Declaration of Emergency has been lifted.  If you haven't received notification as of yet watch for an email and online.
  • PRANs - Please note that given the current municipal considerations, the PRAN extract scheduled for March 23, 2020 was postponed.  The PRANs that were to be included in that extract will now be included with the April 22, 2020 extract, for an issue date of April 29, 2020.
