2020 Conference Cancelled

May 3, 2020

In this unprecedented time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the OMTRA Board has decided to cancel the 2020 Conference in Windsor. While this is unfortunate, we believe it to be the responsible choice. We have confirmed with Caesar’s Windsor Conference location that our booking can be deferred until to 2022, which means we will still get the chance to visit the great City of Windsor. If you have already sent in your registration payment for this year’s conference, a refund will be issued in the near future (or your cheque will be returned). If you have booked or reserved a room, please contact the hotel directly.

Each year, OMTRA sponsors a charitable organization where the conference is hosted. This year the board had selected The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. In light of the economic downturn and the inability for charities to run fundraising events, the board chose to honour our sponsorship commitment. Below is the response from the organization, they really do appreciate and need the support.

“All I can say is thank you….you have truly left me speechless. Thank you, thank you, thank you to you and your board, this means more than you know. As an organization that is only 43% government funded, this donation will directly support our      patients and their loved ones, and allow our Hospice to continue caring for our community, even during these uncertain times.” The Hospice of Windsor & Essex County Inc.

The 2021 conference will be at Casino Rama in Orillia as originally planned.

The Annual General Meeting will be held virtually with details and instructions to be communicated with our membership this summer.

Thank-you for your patience and understanding.

Stay well and stay safe.
