Office Administrator Services
The Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association is seeking the services of an Office Administrator on an independent contractor basis effective immediately. The Office Administrator will be solely responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the association under the direction of the association president, board of directors and committees. Under the direction of the board of directors, the Office Administrator shall provide services related to event and conference planning, general administration, support duties for board and committees, and receiving payments for membership applications while maintaining confidentiality of operations.
Location: Remote – with some travel for in-person meetings and events
Position Type: Independent Contractor
Annual Budget: $67,000 - $78,000 (negotiable based on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
About Us: The Ontario Municipal Tax and Revenue Association (OMTRA) is the professional association for Ontario's tax and revenue collectors, and provides a forum for networking, learning, and sharing best practices. Our members represent the full range of municipal tax and revenue collection disciplines, including property taxation, utility billing, service fee collection and Provincial Offences fine collections. OMTRA also serves as an advocate to advance issues of interest on behalf of municipalities, including recommending changes to legislation where warranted.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of post-secondary education in municipal administration, business operations, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of municipal government, property tax, and revenue administration (an asset).
- Experience in office administration, board support, event planning and/or nonprofit operations.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, website maintenance, and social media.
- Completion of the MTAP program (or willingness to complete).
