About MTAP

The Municipal Tax Administration Program

MTAP is the only post-secondary program specific to municipal tax and revenue collection in Ontario. Created and maintained by OMTRA, it is considered essential to many positions in the municipal revenue landscape.

Relevant, practical training

A three-module correspondence course, MTAP was developed expressly for individuals working in municipal tax and revenue collection. It takes a strongly practical approach to building foundational skills.

OMTRA ensures MTAP remains fully current on legislation and best practices to reflect the realities of being a municipal tax and revenue collection professional in Ontario. (Last update: January 2019)

High standards, expert oversight

All grading is done by OMTRA members, who are specialists in their respective fields. The course is designed not only to meet the requirements of professionals working in the sector, but also follows the stringent post-secondary educational standards of Seneca College , whom administers the program.

If you are an OMTRA member interested in becoming a marker for the MTAP course, please contact OMTRA’s Director of Education.

Marking contributes toward earning your Certified Municipal Tax Professional (CMRP) designation and is a great way to stay informed of the latest legislation while mentoring the next generation of municipal tax and revenue professionals.
